Customer Review: Who says healthy can't be fun?

This is a great and fun gadget for making a healthy snack. My two year old thought it was hilarious as well. First off, I followed the directions that others had included to heat up the popper for 2 to 3 minutes first, then unplug, pour popcorn in, and plug back in. Knowing that the machine was likely to spew popcorn kernels at some point in the cycle, I aimed it away from where I was standing holding my child up to see. I also put it on a clear section of counter to make clean up easier. Sure enough, the last several kernals went all over the place. But how difficult is it to wipe up a few popcorn kernels? My child also thought the kernels going everywhere was the best part of the show :) Clean up of the actual unit was easy. Just wash off the top and the measuring cup. And then wipe out the machine itself. Took maybe 2 minutes. You do have to wait until the machine has completely cooled down. I'm not sure what the negative reviews about the texture of the popcorn were about. Maybe they were using old popcorn that had been sitting on the shelf of the grocery store a long time (or in their homes) and it was stale. We eat mostly organic. So I had purchased a bag of organic popcorn and it had a good crisp and crunchy texture. We did have more unpopped kernels than most people stated they had, like around 20. But that did not bother me at all. When do you ever have popcorn and not have unpopped kernels? At the movies you get unpopped kernels. With microwave or stove top popcorn you get the same. So it is unrealistic to think every single kernel is going to pop in an air popper. The number of unpopped kernels we had is probably b/c the popcorn we used had small kernels to begin with. I believe I had read in other reviews that they recommend using larger kernel popcorn. So maybe that would have yielded less unpopped kernels. However, I did not think the number of unpopped kernels we had was unreasonable or ridiculous. We did not use the measuring cup to mealt butter, so I can't review how that works. All in all was very happy with this product.
