The box this composter arrived in belies its size. In it's fully open state, it is nearly as wide as the tire on an 18 wheeler and stands about 4 ft. high. Made of plastic with lots of ventilation slots, it is easy to put together. Due to the numerous wild animals around my property, I put hardware cloth on the ground and put the composter on top of it. Between this and the small slats in the composter, I have not had any visitors get into my bin.
Once put together, I found the bin to be a bit wobbly at first so I put in four wooden stakes (about 1" x 4') around the inside of the bin. This made the bin stiff and impervious to wind. I expect to leave the stakes in even after it's full as the bin will slip right over the stakes when it comes time to empty it. I found that once I started adding compost, the bin stiffened up even more and is now very stable.
The price is right for this product. It's easy to set up and all you do is drop your compostable materials in the bin and walk away.
